You're the Safety Net. Let's Build a Backup.

You're doing an incredible job. But your kids need more protection than most — because there's no backup parent if something happens.

The Challenges Single Parents Face

Sound familiar? You're not alone.

You're It

There's no spouse to step in if something happens. No backup. No co-parent to handle things. Your kids depend on you completely — which means they're completely vulnerable if you're gone.

The Other Parent Question

Maybe there's another biological parent. Maybe they're not in the picture. Maybe they ARE in the picture but you'd never want them raising your kids alone. This complicates everything.

Double the Burden, Zero the Time

You're working, parenting, and surviving. Estate planning feels like one more thing on an impossible list. So it keeps getting pushed off.

No Second Income Safety Net

If something happens to you, there's no surviving spouse's income. Life insurance and financial planning aren't optional — they're essential.

How We Protect Single Parents

Specialized solutions for YOUR situation.

Comprehensive Kids Protection Plan

Multiple backup guardians (primary, secondary, tertiary). Emergency short-term guardians for immediate situations. Medical authorizations. Everything documented and legally binding.

Trusts That Skip the Other Parent

If the other biological parent has rights but you don't want them controlling inheritance, a trust with an independent trustee protects your children's money from being mismanaged.

Life Insurance Coordination

You need more coverage than a two-parent household. We help you figure out how much, make sure it's properly owned, and ensure it goes where you intend — not to an ex.

Emergency Response Package

If you're in the hospital, who picks up your kids from school? Who has legal authority to make decisions? We document temporary emergency arrangements so your kids are never in limbo.

"As a single mom, I kept putting this off because it felt overwhelming. Legacy Dad made it simple. Now I have three backup guardians, a trust for my daughter, and I finally sleep better at night."

Questions Single Parents Ask

If the other parent is alive, don't they automatically get custody?
Usually yes, if they have parental rights. But you can still name your preferred guardians for emergencies (before custody transfers), document your concerns if the other parent is unfit, and ensure your child's inheritance is protected in a trust THEY don't control.
I don't have family nearby to be guardians. What do I do?
Friends can be guardians. Long-distance family can be guardians with local short-term backups for emergencies. We help you think through creative solutions and create a robust cascade of options.
How much life insurance do I really need?
General rule for single parents: 12-15x your annual income, minimum. Plus enough to cover your child's care and education until they're independent. We can help you calculate a real number.
What if the other parent and I share custody?
Your estate plan coordinates with your custody arrangement. You can name backup guardians in case the other parent is unable or unwilling. You can absolutely protect your child's inheritance from mismanagement.
